Warwick District Council is inviting local residents to a public meeting to learn more about the proposed additional licencing scheme consultation for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
A consultation was launched last month by the Council, asking tenants, landlords and residents their views on whether more HMOs should fall under an additional licencing scheme, which would require these types of properties to adhere to strict safety conditions and regulations.
This public meeting, to be held at The Pump Rooms in Leamington on Monday 27 February at 5.30pm, gives residents the chance to understand more about the proposals, ask any questions and take part in the consultation.
Councillor Jan Matecki, Warwick District Council Portfolio Holder for Housing, said:
“An increase in the number of HMOs within the district warrants the need for us to revisit our licensing requirements and gain valuable input and feedback from those living in these properties, landlords and close neighbours.
“Please do come along to the event to learn more about these proposals – it offers the opportunity for you to ask questions and understand why it’s important that you have your say, and that your voice is heard.”
The consultation runs until 20 March 2023. Attendance at the public event is by ticket only, with tickets available on Eventbrite.
