Excitement is building ahead of next month’s Spark:Ignite 2023, with the Arts Team now confirming the exciting line-up of speakers, workshops, and demonstrations taking place throughout the day.
Spark:Ignite returns for a fourth year at the Royal Spa Centre on Wednesday 15 February from 9am to 4pm. The annual symposium for the creative sector is designed to turn creative talk into creative action by bringing together and promoting the growth of the arts and digital industries across Warwick District.
The event will be structured around five core themes: voice, placemaking, pathfinding, engagement, and innovation.
The programme of sessions has now been announced, with renowned speakers from the creative sector giving talks on a variety of subjects. ‘Global Leamington’ will explore the work being undertaken in the town to put Leamington on the world stage; ‘Placemaking: Building Creative Communities’ will delve into the importance of creating public spaces that promote the happiness and wellbeing of our communities.
Other talks and workshops will explore how to get into your desired creative industry, fundraising, intellectual property, and effectively utilising volunteers, with a free workshop on maximising social media for marketing by local marketing company Spaghetti Agency.
Anyone interested or working in craft, film, TV, video, radio, photography, museums, galleries, performing arts or visual arts, to name a few, is encouraged to apply to attend the event.
Primarily focusing on Warwick District, it is open to anyone who wants to find out more about the area’s creative scene and how they can help celebrate, promote, and grow the sector.
David Guilding, Arts Manager at Warwick District Council said:
“We are delighted to be hosting the Spark:Ignite event for the fourth year. It offers a fantastic opportunity for us to bring together our rich and diverse creative sector to network, share, explore and celebrate the creative offering we have here in Warwick District.”
Councillor Liam Bartlett, Portfolio Holder for Arts and Economy added:
“We have a wealth of talent right here on our doorstep that we’re proud to support with events such as these, so I’d encourage anyone interested in or currently working in the creative sector to sign up for a FREE ticket.”
