Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre and St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre in Warwick district are introducing a number of improvements to their gym facilities this summer.
The centres, managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Warwick District Council, are set to invest £400,000, to provide a better experience for members.
The refurbishments will include the addition of nearly 80 brand new, state-of-the-art pieces of strength and CV equipment, across both sites. These range from Treadmills, to Cross Trainers and Olympic Power Racks, alongside the introduction of new equipment members wouldn’t have previously had before.
Newbold Comyn, due to be completed on Wednesday 29 June, will also benefit from a larger free weights area, to cater for the increase in demand from the local community, alongside new flooring and artwork.
In addition, St Nichols Park, due to be completed on Saturday 9 July, will benefit from new flooring and artwork.
Gareth Wagg, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre and St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre remain an integral part of the community and we’re excited to build on this by improving our current gym offering.
“We’re sure that our members will benefit greatly from this investment. Not only will it help to increase our prevalence as a hub for the local community, but also work to support our mission - for everybody to reach their target of 30 minutes’ exercise, five times a week.”
Councillor Moira-Ann Grainger, Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood and Leisure added:
“We are very pleased to see the continued investment in our Leisure Centres by Everyone Active. This ensures that local residents have access to the latest equipment to improve their health, strength and wellbeing at an affordable price right on their doorstep.”
During the refurbishment period, the gyms will need to close for a short period of time. Members will be advised on the dates for each centre and given access to nearby Everyone Active leisure centres.
Both Centres will be adding a range of additional Group Fitness classes to the timetable during its refurbishment closure. For the latest updates:
