Warwick District Council is inviting the local creative community to attend a brand-new summer event, Ignite.
Taking place on Thursday 14 July from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at the Royal Pump Rooms in Leamington Spa, Ignite aims to build on the success of Spark: Ignite, the annual symposium for the district’s creative sector, with an evening of celebration and conversation, the announcement of grant winners and launch of CultureFest.
Councillor Liam Bartlett, Portfolio Holder for Economy & Culture, said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity to hear from our new creative partners and recent grant recipients about their exciting plans and projects.”
“We’re also launching a new grant scheme, the France Brodeur Young Artist Award for young emerging artists aged 16-35. Brodeur was a unique and talented artist who left a legacy to encourage, support and develop new emerging artists, and it’s a genuine pleasure for us to administer this grant for talented young artists in our area.”
“Ignite will kickstart an exciting summer of celebration for arts and heritage in our district, so come and join us for an inspiring evening of music, conversation and collaboration.”
Recipients of the Council’s latest ‘Arts’ and ‘Ignite’ grants will also be announced at the event. Applications are still open and local artists and organisations are encouraged to take a look at the criteria and submit an application at www.warwickdc.gov.uk/artsgrants before the closing date on 21 June.
The evening will culminate with the launch of CultureFest, Warwick District’s cultural and heritage programme of events that celebrate the arts, venues, artists, and creatives in the area during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Tickets to the event are just £5 to include a complimentary drink and canapes.
