Warwick District Council regrets to announce the temporary suspension of its Green Bin service next week due to ongoing driver shortages.
The decision to postpone the collections due from 25 to 29 October, will allow the refuse and recycling services to continue as normal. Residents who are due to have their green waste collected during this period are being asked to re-present their bin for their next scheduled service (week beginning 8 November).
Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Environment & Neighbourhood Services Councillor Alan Rhead commented:
"Along with other areas in the country our waste services contractor is finding the shortage of HGV drivers is affecting its collection services. Under these circumstances we have agreed that priority must be given to the main waste and recycling collections for good public health and safety reasons."
Although the Council plans to recommence all services the week beginning 1 November, any resident with excess green waste is advised to use their local Recycling Centre in Leamington or Kenilworth.
