The budget for 2021/22 was approved at the Full Council meeting held on Wednesday 24 February.
Councillors also agreed to a moderate £5 rise in the District Council’s share of Council Tax.
This decision means that from April a band D household will pay Warwick District Council £176.86 a year in Council Tax (compared to £171.86 in 2020/21).
The Leader of Warwick District Council, Councillor Andrew Day commented;
“The pandemic continues to have a significant impact on our capacity to provide the high-quality services our residents expect from this Council. We've thrown everything we've got into a shared effort to support our communities and put in place a recovery plan to help get us back on our feet as soon as possible. The £5 increase in Council Tax this year is vital if we're to continue this important work.
We're also extending our relationship with Stratford on Avon District Council. Working together our two councils have an opportunity to further improve our services, while strengthening our resilience and capacity to positively respond to new challenges, such as the Covid-19 recovery and the climate emergency.
"Taking the tough decisions now, will enable efficiencies to be seized and resources focused on our shared capacity to provide innovative, agile and high-quality services."
