The Council has successfully completed the purchase of 1.78 acres of land at the former Waverley Riding School in Cubbington for the provision of 17 homes, including 7 affordable properties.
The move to acquire the site forms part of a wider strategy by Warwick District Council to significantly boost the direct provision of affordable homes in conjunction with a range of construction partners across the district, and is a critical component to enable local people to continue living within the district, whilst also making use of brownfield land.
Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing Councillor Jan Matecki commented;
“We’re very pleased to have been able to secure this land for much needed housing within our district during challenging times. This is a great location, and with a high proportion of affordable homes this could give an opportunity for young people and those with families to relocate to or stay in the area.”
