We will be stepping up our ongoing programme of investment in the district’s 170 parks over the next few months, with improvements to five play areas in Leamington and Warwick.
We have recently awarded contracts to two play companies who will be upgrading and installing new equipment in the playgrounds in Othello Avenue and Ophelia Drive (Warwick Gates) and Twycross Walk (Woodloes) in Warwick, as well as Midland Oak and Rushmore Street in Leamington.
These improvements will begin later this month on a site by site basis using a wide range of challenging and exciting new apparatus to suit all ages and abilities.
We would like to make users of the parks aware that areas of these parks will be fenced off when installations are taking place, but we will try and keep any disruption to a minimum, particularly during the school holiday.
Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services, Councillor David Norris commented;
“An active lifestyle is very important for everyone in our district, I am therefore very pleased to see the start of significant improvement programmes for these much used parks. This investment will give our local communities fun, safe and accessible open spaces to enjoy for many years to come.”
