Riverside House update - November 2024
Since Warwick District Council’s vacation of Riverside House in March 2024, project officers have been working closely with the proposed new site owners Homes England to bring forward their plans for residential development and the creation of a new riverside park.
Whilst an application for outline planning permission is being sought, and with winter approaching additional security measures are being put in place in the former HQ building to mitigate against break-ins and unwanted anti-social behaviour. These will include the installation of metal screens to the windows and doors.
Councillor Ian Davison, Leader of Warwick District Council commented: “The future regeneration of this site to include affordable and energy efficient homes in partnership with Homes England remains a key project for our council. However, in the meantime it is important that we protect the area against possible damage and vandalism whist this important process is taking place”.
The first of the plans for the redevelopment of Riverside House will go to the Council’s Planning Committee in the New Year.
