Outreach workers working with council's Ranger Service
Having recently been awarded the contract to deliver outreach services to rough sleepers across Warwickshire P3 ‘The Social Inclusion charity’ are working closely with Warwick District Council’s Ranger Service to find, engage and support anyone who finds themselves sleeping on the streets.
Over the past few weeks outreach workers from P3 and officers from the Ranger Service have undertaken joint patrols of the district's parks and open spaces with the aim of supporting those sleeping rough in finding secure accommodation and accessing the services they need.
Esther Barrett, Operations Manager from P3 commented; "The partnership work we do with the council’s Ranger Service is invaluable. Our joined up approach enables us to reach out and support more vulnerable people in the local community. Their local knowledge of the open spaces is invaluable allowing us to assertively engage with rough sleepers."
Councillor David Shilton, Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for Neighbourhood Services added; "P3 working together with our Ranger Service is a great example of partnership working with external agencies and voluntary organisations to keep the district’s parks, open spaces and car parks safe, clean and welcoming to all."
