Councillors and members of the project team behind the redevelopment of the United Reformed Church in Leamington Spa were among the guests attending the launch of ‘the Fold' last Thursday 12 October.
The Grade II listed former place of worship along with nursery and dole office in Leamington’s Old Town are three landmark buildings to be converted and repurposed as new spaces for the area’s digital and creative sectors, in a District Council led scheme which has been enabled thanks to funding from the Government’s Future High Street Fund.
Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Arts & Economy, Councillor Ella Billiald commented:
“It’s wonderful to see the stunning transformation of this neglected and underutilised building into an exciting new space, with multiple uses and great commercial potential. I would like to congratulate all the teams involved in bringing it well and truly back to life and look forward to seeing our creative community thrive in this atmospheric venue.”
The Old Town redevelopment programme is being undertaken by the Council’s regeneration development partner Complex Development Projects.
