Disability sport
ILEAP have been running inclusive leisure opportunities in the local community since 2000. They aim to offer children and adults with a mild/moderate learning disability opportunities for fun and friendship during their leisure time.
The charity works with its members and their families to offer an exciting and rewarding programme of leisure activities in the evenings, at weekends and during school holidays. All the activities take place in the local community and offer a safe and structured environment where participants can build confidence and raise self-esteem whilst having fun with friends old and new.
The activities offered by ILEAP, also provide busy families with a short break in the knowledge that their loved one is being well cared for and is taking part in an activity that they enjoy.
Activities include things like cinema trips, swimming, youth clubs, arts and crafts, sports and games, music and movement, cookery clubs, holiday play schemes, day trips, residential activities, meals out, discos, birthday parties, bingo, karaoke, ten pin bowling, drama clubs and pottery. All the activities are user led and so the programme is constantly improving based on feedback from customers and their families.
Anyone interested in joining the charity can find out more information and register on the ILEAP website or contact them on 01789 260644 or 07980 004381, email: ileap@stratford-dc.gov.uk
