Who are we?
Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum is part of Warwick District Council's Arts Section. We provide the care and interpretation of the Council’s arts and heritage collections.
Why do we collect personal data?
We collect personal data to:
- establish ownership of museum objects and artworks in the collection
- manage the collections
- respond to enquiries related to the collections, local history or art
- collect and manage oral histories and personal stories
How do we store your personal data?
Your personal data is stored on our computerised collections management system. Paper copies of the information you supply is stored in secured rooms. Accession registers and signed copies of collections management forms are stored in a paper safe inside a secured room.
Who has access to your personal data?
Access is restricted to select members of staff within Warwick District Council who would ordinarily have access to these records in the normal course of their duties. We will never share your personal data with anyone outside of Warwick District Council.
We acknowledge donors by including their names on object labels. Please let us know if you are happy for this to happen.
What is the legal basis?
- Archiving purposes in the public interest
- Scientific or historical research purposes
Warwick District Council is the data controller.
How long do you retain the personal data?
Personal data will be held in line with Warwick District Council's Retention Policy.
