Led and part funded by Warwick District Council in partnership with the West Midlands Historic Buildings Trust (WMHBT) this project will see two of Warwick’s most important buildings, recognised to be of national and local historic and architectural significance, brought back to life.
Located in Saltisford, a short walk from the town centre, this scheduled ancient monument site of a medieval leper hospital contains two (15th / 16th century) grade II* listed buildings which are on the Historic England Heritage at Risk Register.
Proposals are for both remaining buildings to be sympathetically and carefully restored for affordable residential use, with St Michael’s Chapel converted into a one-bed house and the ‘Master’s House’ converted into a two-bed family home.
The scheme will also include further residential development, parking and landscaping.
Thanks to funding from Historic England and players of The National Lottery, we are developing detailed designs and undertaking specialist archaeological investigations. There are also plans for interpretation panels to chart the history of the site.
