Notification of an application to the owner of the land
If the applicant is not the owner of the land to which an application is to be made then notice should be served upon the owner/tenant using the form below. The form should be completed by the applicant and served on the owner or agricultural tenant. Also if the owner of the land is not known then notice should be published in a local newspaper, using the the following Article 6 Notification Form (80kb, PDF).
Larger Home Extensions: Neighbour Consultation Scheme
For a period of six years, between 30 May 2013 and 30 May 2019, househoulders will be allowed to build larger single-storey rear extensions to a dwelling house under permitted development, providing the dwelling house is not on article 2(3) land* nor on a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Size limits will double from 4 metres to 8 metres for detached houses, and from 3 metres to 6 metres for all other houses.
* = 'Article 2(3) land' - this is land within a National Park, the Broads, an area of outstanding natural beauty, an area designated as a conservation area, and land within World Heritage Sites.
