Disabled facilities and repair grants
The Home Environment Assessment & Response Team (HEART) is a partnership venture by all the Warwickshire District and Borough Councils. We provide advice and assistance to deliver disabled adaptations and home improvements; to keep your home safe, secure and warm. Our caseworkers assess customers needs and housing conditions and provide you with tailored advice and support on a range of issues including:
- Home aids and adaptations
- Housing conditions, repairs, and safety matters
- Benefits, grants, or loans for essential building works
For more information on the grants available please go to the HEART service page, or alternatively you can email the team at heartsouth@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk or get in contact via telephone on 02476 376 299.
Repayment of old grants and loans
If you have previously had a Disabled Facilities Grant or Decent Homes Grant from Warwick District Council and are required to repay this due to the property being sold or transferred, please contact us first to discuss the outstanding amount. You can contact us on 01926 456 732.
You can now repay your Disabled Facilities Grant online. When making an online payment, please enter the address of the property concerned and not your address. Please also state the grant number as your reference.
You can now repay a Decent Homes Grant or loan online. When making an online payment, please enter the address of the property concerned and not your address. Please also state the grant number as your reference.
Both grants are registered as a local land charge against the property. If the property is being sold or transferred, the charge will appear on any land search and you will be required to pay the balance in full.
