Description

There is a strong desire by the Council to adopt a Net Zero Carbon Development Plan Document (DPD) at the earliest opportunity to help tackle the climate emergency declared by the Council. The requirement for the document is set out in the Council’s Local Development Scheme.

Reason for exemption

Having twice attempted and failed to procure suitable consultants through frameworks, officers have now identified a small number of consultants who have expressed an interest in undertaking this work. Timeframe of the report means an exemption is needed, the value is potentially over £50,000 so a cabinet approval is needed.
