Reason for exemption

The product used is provided by Sophos Ltd. It was decided that the Council wanted to continue with this product. Sophos Ltd do not sell their products direct and only operate via a limited network of authorised resellers. Due to the way the software market works, the incumbent supplier is giving greater discounts to pass on to clients than other resellers. As such, it is not in the council’s best interests to follow the competitive process.
