Join us for the first ever virtual light switch-on event as residents are invited to switch their lights on at home in tandem with the town centres!
Light Up the District this Christmas!
Though we can't come together to celebrate the light switch-ons in our town centres this year, we are enabling you to see the lights switched on in the town centres from the comfort of your own home whilst switching yours on at the same time!
Schedule
- 5.45pm - Going live on Facebook and YouTube with an introduction from our jolly Elf, and with performances from Anna & Elsa from Frozen
- 6pm - lights are switched on in Warwick, Leamington, Kenilworth and Whitnash; switch yours on too!
- 6.20pm - closing performances from Buddy and Jovie from Elf, and the celebrations at home continue!

Where to watch
Best Decorated House Competition
Do you have the best decorated house in Warwick district? Does your home rival the Griswold's and McCallister's combined?
Then make sure you enter your home in to our 'Best Decorated House Competition' to win the chance to switch on the town centre lights in your home town in 2021! We'll be judging the best houses from each of our four towns and many villages, so make sure you tag us in your photos on social media and use the hashtag #LightUptheDistrict to make sure you're entered.
Competition prizes
1st prize (x4): The winner of the best decorated house in each town will be invited to turn the Christmas lights on in their home town next year!
2nd prize (x4): Panto tickets to the Royal Spa Centre's pantomime in 2021.
How to enter
Entrants can send in pictures and short videos of their homes between Friday 27 November 2020 and Monday 7 December 2020. Our expert panel, which includes the Mayors of all four towns, will judge the entries and notify the winners via their preferred contact method.
Email your entries to events@warwickdc.gov.uk with your name, address, preferred contact method (phone or email) and your pictures/videos.
Best Decorated House Competition - Terms and Conditions
Colouring in sheets and homemade decorations
We've produced some Christmas themed colouring in sheets that you can download and colour in ahead of the night or the night itself! There's also some paperchains that you can download, colour in, cut out and string across the house.
Remember to share your photos of your colouring in sheets and decorations with us on social media.

The live performances will be brought to you by Enchanted Tea Room, an award winning afternoon tea with a twist in Leamington. An enchanted forest tea room with live performances from a range of popular children's characters from your favourite books and films.
