Council employee benefits

Salary

We offer competitive salaries appropriate to each role. Salaries are reviewed from 1st April each year, in line with the National Joint Council cost of living award for local government services.

Annual leave

The leave year starts on 1st April. Annual leave entitlement increases upon length of service to a maximum of 31 days after 10 years or more service.

Pension

All new permanent or temporary employees will be invited to be members of the Government Pension Scheme, unless they decide to opt out within 3 months of employment.

Sickness payment

We apply the scheme agreed by the National Joint Council for local government services.
